Legal Advertisement – C.I.P. Storm and Sanitary Sewer – Phase I

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Kenton (“Owner”), at the office of the Public Service Director, Kenton City Hall, 111 West Franklin Street, Kenton, Ohio 43326 on the 13th day of September, 2019 until 12:00 pm current local time for the: “C.I.P. Storm and Sanitary Sewer – Phase I” and will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter.  Each bid must contain the full names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties, and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio, and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty Bond for the full amount (100%) of the Bid, in favor of the “Owner” or a certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of 10% of the Bid, payable to the “Owner”.

It is agreed that the bid guaranty shall be for the benefit of the “Owner” pursuant to Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code if the undersigned fails to execute the Contract in conformity with the Form of Contract incorporated in the contract documents and furnish Bond and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the notification of the award of the Contract to the undersigned.

The city is bidding two projects with a single contractor award.  The City of Kenton intends to award the projects considering the combined bid total of both projects to a single contractor.  Two (2) separate contracts will be prepared and executed, one (1) contract for C.I.P. Water – Phase I and one (1) for C.I.P. Storm and Sanitary Sewer – Phase I.  The contractor must also secure a set of Contract Documents, Specifications, and Plans, and must submit a bid for the “C.I.P. Water – Phase I” project in order to be considered as a “responsive bidder” for this project. 

All prospective bidders must register with Key Blue Prints, Inc., 195 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43215 in order to place a bid on this Project. Registration is required to assure all bidders receive any clarification or addenda.

Copies of the Contract Documents, Specifications, and Plans are on file with Key Blue Prints, Inc., 195 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43215 (plankey@keycompanies.com), where they are available for inspection by prospective bidders. Contract Documents, Specifications, and Plans may be obtained from Key Blue Prints, Inc. for a non-refundable fee.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the City of Kenton offices located at 111 West Franklin Street, Kenton, Ohio 43326 on Monday August 26, 2019 at 1:30PM.  All bidders are encouraged to attend,  but are not required to attend in order to submit a bid.

The “Owner” reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in the bids received, and to accept any bid which it deems most favorable.
